The film is produced by Filmax, Bixagu Entertainment and Pompón AIE, with the participation of paybox Movistar Plus, pubcaster RTVE and Spain’s ICAA film institute. Spanish mini-major Filmax will also distribute the film theatrically at home. Silvia Alonso (“Mirage”) stars as Bea, who wakes up with amnesia to discover she is engaged to a multimillionaire, played by Álex González (“Suspicious Minds”). Her new life is disrupted by Edu, played by Maxi Iglesias (“Valeria”), who reveals she is actually a con artist specializing in wealthy men. Popular on Variety The screenplay is by Èric Navarro, Pol Cortecans and Natalia Durán. Olid previously directed “From Good to the Hood” and “A Family Knight-Mare,” after a long career in Spanish television. Ivan Diaz, Filmax head of international, called the film “fresh, funny and original” and said it has “great potential for remake sales.” That strategy follows the U.S. success of “The Invite,” Olivia Wilde’s remake of Cesc Gay’s Filmax-produced comedy “The People Upstairs.” More from Variety
