FIFA 2026: Mohanlal shares video from New York, gives special message to fans

Actor Mohanlal attended the FIFA World Cup 2026 final at New York New Jersey Stadium in New York and shared glimpses from inside the venue ahead of Spain and Argentina’s clash for football’s biggest prize. He posted a video on social media as supporters streamed into the packed stadium for the final.In the video, Mohanlal gave fans a look at the atmosphere before kick-off and shared a brief message for football lovers. “Relax and enjoy the match,” he said, avoiding pre-match predictions. The actor, in his Instagram post, wrote, "The stadium is buzzing. Can’t wait for kickoff. #FIFAWorldCup (sic)."When asked whether he had a favourite team, the actor said he did but did not reveal which side he was supporting. He instead kept the focus on the match and the occasion, though he noted that Kerala, his native state, was leaning in favour of Argentina.Apart from Mohanlal's appearance at FIFA World Cup 2026 final, Shakira, Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber also performed at the halftime show. Spain went on to defeat Argentina 1-0 at New York New Jersey Stadium in the FIFA World Cup final.Mohanlal, amid his love for sports, was recently seen in the thriller, Drishyam 3 (2026). The film, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, also featured actors Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Murali Gopy, and Asha Sharath in key roles. Mohanlal is also expected to have a cameo in the upcoming Malayalam film, Thudakkam.
