Christina tells Sally how she is connected to Lucy (Picture: ITV) Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) attempts to get closer to granddaughter Lucy (Anya Dewin) in Coronation Street tonight, but she’s quickly stopped by Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor). Lucy is the daughter of Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) cousin, Richie (Nathan Sussex). She moved in with Tim and Sally after the murder of her mum, Rachel. Viewers have now discovered that Lucy shares a connection with someone else on the cobbles but at the moment, it’s being kept secret from her. While at the funeral parlour, Christina glanced at information about Rachel, and she later shared that she is the woman’s biological mum. It was revealed that Christina gave birth to a baby girl after an affair with her boss. She spent three months trying to look after little Rachel, but eventually handed the baby over to her boss and his wife, who couldn’t have her own children. What happens next in Coronation Street? Sally and Lucy have photo albums in their hands, which gives Christina the opportunity to get a glimpse of the life Rachel lived for the first time. Christina is incredibly mesmerised by the images, and goes as far as asking Lucy about Rachel’s time at university. When Sally and Lucy return home, Lucy realises one of the pictures of her mum is missing from the album. Sal heads back to the funeral parlour, and is troubled to realise that Christina has stolen it. She puts forward the idea of building a friendship with Lucy, and says she’ll keep her identity a secret. Sally outright says this cannot happen, which devastates Christina. Lucy is sent home and, once she’s gone, Sally tells Christina that she will speak to social services and take their advice, but Christina must stay away until she’s told otherwise.
