Female student-athletes settle with San Diego State

SAN DIEGO — A federal court in California gave final approval to a class settlement between female varsity student-athletes and San Diego State University over claims of gender discrimination in the university’s athletic programs. The terms provide for payments ranging between $172 and $860 to go out to the class of students, as well as $1.3 million in attorney fees.
