Female prison tutor ‘smuggled nude snaps to lag on USB & was caught in locked room with him during illicit relationship’

A PRISON maths tutor smuggled naked snaps of herself to a lag and was found locked in a room with him, a court heard. Oksana Antanaitiene, 51, allegedly struck up an illicit relationship with the prisoner while teaching inmates at HMP Chelmsford, Essex. Antanaitiene is also accused of communicating with him using an alias during the alleged relationship, which is said to have lasted more than three months. The Lithuanian tutor appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court charged with one count of misconduct in public office. She entered no plea, but Mahshid Uddin, defending, told the court she intends to plead guilty at her next appearance at crown court. Vladimir Silea, prosecuting, told JPs: “This case relates to a misconduct in public office offence by the defendant who works for the prison service in Chelmsford. “She formed an inappropriate relationship with one of the prisoners. “She was caught in a locked staff office by some of the staff workers there.” Most read in The Sun He added: “She was also found to have communicated sexually including with photos on a USB stick.” The charge alleges Antanaitiene entered into a relationship with the serving prisoner between July 9 and October 24 last year. She is accused of conveying naked photographs of herself to him, bringing a USB stick into the prison for him and communicating with him using an alias. The court heard it was unclear whether the prisoner has since been freed under an early-release scheme. Prosecutors declined to name the inmate or reveal further details about what the photographs showed. District Judge Timothy King granted Antanaitiene bail ahead of an appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court on September 22. HMP Chelmsford is a Category B men’s prison and young offender institution. A previous scheme at the jail saw specialist maths courses developed after prison bosses revealed a high proportion of inmates arrived with poor numeracy skills. It comes just months after another HMP Chelmsford tutor was jailed for eight months over an illicit relationship with a prisoner. Melissa Murphy, 48, was found “flustered” and alone with the lag in a locked room inside the jail. Handwritten letters containing “explicit romantic and sexual content” were later discovered in his cell, while a photograph of the prisoner was found at Murphy’s home.
