Fedora CoreOS To Enable systemd-oomd & zRAM Swap By Default

Fedora's CoreOS as their container-optimized operating system will be moving to enable systemd-oomd by default with Fedora CoreOS 45. Additionally, swap on zRAM will be enabled by default too. The Fedora Engineering and Steering Committee (FESCo) has now granted approval for enabling systemd-oomd and zRAM swap for Fedora CoreOS with the F45 release. This aligns CoreOS with other Fedora variants already using these defaults. Fedora CoreOS had held off due to Kubernetes not being compatible with swap on nodes until recently. The plans are laid out on the Fedora Wiki for this change now unanimously approved by FESCo. FESCo this week also approved switching Fedora Atomic to the Anaconda WebUI rather than the legacy GTK-based Anaconda installer. Plus there is also web-based remote installation support for atomic desktops approved as well.
