The EA Sports FC 27 early access release date is almost upon us, but that means we still have two major milestones to hit before the game goes live on Friday, September 18. The FC 27 Web App will go live before the game launches into early access, as has been tradition for a number of years, but it's going live 24 hours later than expected. EA just shut down the FC 26 Web App, replacing it with a holding page stating that it's down for maintenance and that the FC 27 Web App will be launching soon. The Web App and Mobile Companion App won't go live at the same time, though, as we now know that one will go live on Thursday while the other follows 24 hours later. FC 27 Web App To Launch This Thursday For eager managers who want to get a head start on building their first Ultimate Team for FC 27, the Web App offers a chance to gain access to the FUT game mode in a limited capacity before the official launch date. You can open packs, build teams, trade players, claim rewards, and complete SBCs all before FC 27 is officially out, and it means that once you get into the full game, you can just start playing without having to worry about completing a bunch of team admin. With the FC 26 Web App officially closed, and special cards now taken out of FC 26 packs in-game, the game is all but officially sunset, with focus turning entirely to FC 27. We have confirmation via EA that the FC 27 Web App will go live on Thursday, September 17, and we expect the exact timing to be at 6 pm BST (7pm CEST, 1pm ET, 10am PT). This is a day later than the traditional time for the Web App to go live, which typically happens the Wednesday before early access begins. Make sure you know your EA account details that are linked to the team you want to use, and if you need to do any password changes or 2FA updates, get these done before the Web App goes live. If there is high demand for the Web App, you may find that you can't log in immediately and will either have to keep trying or come back once the servers are more stable. FC 27 Companion App Expected On Friday If you're not keen on the idea of logging into Ultimate Team via a browser, you can instead wait for the Companion App, which is essentially just a version of the Web App, but for smartphones. To spread out the demand on the FC 27 servers, this is expected to launch 24 hours after the Web App on Friday, 18 September, again at 6pm BST (7pm CEST, 1pm ET, 10am PT). It will be available from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store on compatible devices. This will technically be live after FC 27 launches at midnight on Friday, 18 September, but it gives you a chance to interact with your FC 27 Ultimate Team on the move. You can also sign in and use the Web App or Companion App even if you don't have the Ultimate Edition of the game. Access isn't restricted to those who have pre-ordered, meaning you can just log in and start prepping your team for when you eventually buy the game if you so desire. This access, however, is typically cut off shortly after launch, and you are required to have an active Ultimate Team from the most recent version of the game to access the various apps.
