Fantastic Four Goes Hard Sci-Fi With New Matching Costumes

But beyond even that crossover, an adventure may unite not only the original Fantastic Four, but the junior team as well in Fall 2026. As seen in glimpses of the cover and preview for Fantastic Four #19 releasing on November 18, the team will embark on their very next adventure following the conclusion of the X-Virus threat from the DNX storyline in #18. Along with a fascinating tease of a brand-new encounter with the remnants of an advanced civilization and the terrors that may have destroyed them. The cover art by Ramos features both the main and Junior Fantastic Four in matching costumes alongside H.E.R.B.I.E., bringing Franklin and Valeria "Val" Richards as well as Jo-Venn and N'Kalla together with their family for possibly their biggest adventure yet. The Original & Junior Fantastic Four Unite In November's Next Adventure Alongside a preview of an exciting interplanetary adventure too big for just one team, it appears one of Marvel's most iconic teams has a new uniform for just such an occasion. The latest Fantastic Four cover features what resembles more of an EVA suit minus the helmet, with insulation and protection against hostile environments likely in addition to the unstable molecules in the fabric of their more traditional jumpsuit attire of the past. These uniforms rather closely resemble the ones worn during the team's clash with the Invincible Woman from issues #8-10, as what was apparently a gift soon unearths far more than they bargained for. The Fantastic Four have built a new kind of telescope for their children, able to peer deeper into the unexplored depths of the universe... and have found something unexpected. It's not a biosignature, but a technosignature: solar engineering that could only be done by an incredibly advanced civilization. It's an invitation — one that they take... but soon discover that the society that sent it is long gone — and those that destroyed them may still remain! It's the Fantastic Four — and their children — facing cryptic messages on the other side of the universe... all alone against a force they cannot defeat! Given the blend of classic villains like Nicholas Scratch and Galactus alongside dark twists on Susan Storm with North and Ramos' Invincible Woman, the unbeatable force teased here could be any number of possibilities. Generally speaking, though, even higher-concept plots so far in the Fantastic Four series have often pushed the main team to prioritize the safety of their children, understandably. This may not be the option this time around, as danger lurks even in what could have been a thrilling archaeological expedition. As hopeless as the situation presents itself to be, the combined teams hardly have much to worry about. Fantastic Four's Young Team Has Faced Strange & Dangerous Threats Already As seen previously in this same run on the Fantastic Four series, Franklin, Val, Nicki, and Jo have already faced impressive threats and proven themselves such as against the Mad Thinker like in issue #7. Additionally, they've faced mind-bending twists following an emerging corrupted version of the mathematical constant pi. The series has blended hard sci-fi concepts by grounding itself in a reader-friendly understanding of real-world science while making it work in the Marvel universe, with Nicki and Jo's Skrull and Kree physiology allowing them immunity to an illusory threat wreaking havoc on humanity — something the original Fantastic Four might not have handled as easily. Now, as they enter part 1 of the latest storyline, "The Dark Forest", the hard sci-fi of this run will also collide with its other incredibly strong aspect, its depiction of family, as they learn of the ominous threat capable of snuffing out an advanced civilization hidden in the universe's depths. The Fantastic Four have faced down plenty of dangers so far in this run, but with the future generation tagging along this time, any risks they'll take will have far greater implications, surely an exciting prospect as issue #19 drops on November 18.
