Fans Hope The Pokémon Company Just Teased the Rumored Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Switch Ports

Fans flocked to them because nostalgia remains undefeated. But Pokémon fans are hoping that another set of Generation 3 Game Boy Advance classics are on the way. Rumors of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Switch ports began last month when a leaker said they could be released sometime in September or October. A dataminer had previously discovered that both FireRed and LeafGreen had been programmed to check for the existence of their Gen 3 counterparts, lending some credence to the rumors. The Pokémon Company's X post has fans hoping for more ports Monday morning in Japan, the Poké Times X account (an official Japanese Pokémon account) shared a 30-second video from either Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald showing Mr. Briney chasing his Wingull, Peeko. Fans were quick to notice just how vivid the colors were in the video, and wondered if this clip was taken from the rumored Switch versions. "The color is way too vibrant. It's the Ruby Sapphire Switch version, no doubt about it," one X user replied. "The image quality is way too good. So, you must've taken this from the Switch port, huh?" another said. The Pokémon Company has not officially announced or commented on any Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald ports for the Switch and Switch 2. However, as TPC shadowdropped the FireRed and LeafGreen ports during the 30th anniversary stream, it's possible The Pokémon Company won't announce the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald ports until they're ready to be immediately released — if they're coming at all, that is.
