But fans were not pleased with the result, with some rattled supporters even complaining that they felt the draw was ‘rigged.’ The controversy stemmed from the majority of the teams being drawn at home, with only Arsenal and Aston Villa facing the prospect of a fixture away from home. One fan wrote: “Two out of 8 home fixtures for the big boys. Surely would’ve been fairer if there were more home and away balls to pick from rather than three of each. Total farce. Rigged.” Another supporter fumed: “Omg this is the most RIGGED draw ever? What are these people doing?
