Famous pizza chain dubbed ‘better than Domino’s’ closes its last restaurant in UK as it vanishes from high street

A US fast food chain has officially left the UK market, closing its final location this summer. At its peak, the popular pizzeria giant operated just under 20 sites across Britain. Little Caesars eventually returned to the market, opening a number of locations, including the Greenford branch in 2024. Now, the site is listed as permanently closed on Google, with Restaurant Online reporting it had ceased trading over the summer. It comes after Little Caesars closed locations in Nottingham and Derby in the past year. The closures come just two years after the pizza chain, which was founded in Michigan in 1959, described the UK “a key market for global expansion”. Little Caesars returned to the UK with a location in Chellaston, Derby, in late 2022. This was followed by further franchise locations in Nottingham and London. Most read in Money The brand currently operates a total of 4,824 restaurants across the US as of 2026 and has been described by fans online as “better than Domino’s”.
