Family pay tribute to 'kind, generous and loving' Royal GP 'murdered' at home near Sandringham Estate

The family of a GP who treated members of the Royal Family have paid tribute to the 'kind, generous and loving' mother-of-three.Dr Hannah Cain, 45, known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry, was found unconscious and not breathing in an upstairs bedroom at her home in Dersingham, Norfolk, in the early hours of Sunday.Her husband, Mark Cain, 45, has since been charged with her murder and appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court today.In a statement, Hannah's family said: 'We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah.'She was kind, generous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law and friend.'We are incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry. We would ask people to respect our privacy at this difficult time.'The latest details emerged as Cain appeared before magistrates accused of murdering his wife at their home in Fern Hill, just a short distance from the King's Sandringham Estate. He was not asked to enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at King's Lynn Crown Court tomorrow.Prosecutor Jackie Hanlon told the court that the ambulance service contacted police at 2.25am on Sunday after Cain was reportedly found with an injury which was initially described as a stab wound following a suspected robbery.Paramedics then discovered Hannah upstairs.Ms Hanlon told the court: 'Hannah Cain was found in an upstairs bedroom not breathing and not conscious.'She added that a preliminary post-mortem examination had noted a blunt-force injury to the right side of Hannah's head, as well as an injury which could be suggestive of compression of the neck.'There were children in the house at the time,' the prosecutor said.The court was told that the cause of Hannah's death remains subject to further investigation.Hannah was reportedly hosting a sleepover for children at the family home when the tragedy unfolded.The GP was understood to have been part of a pool of doctors who were regularly available to members of the Royal Family when they were staying at nearby Sandringham. Reports have said she treated senior members of the Royal Family, including Queen Camilla, and the King and Queen are understood to have been informed of her death. She was a GP at Grimston Medical Centre and also ran Norfolk Sky Aesthetics.The medical centre was temporarily closed following her death, with staff saying they were dealing with 'extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team'. Forensic teams are pictured outside the home in Dersingham, Norfolk, on MondayAn NHS statement issued on behalf of the practice described Hannah as an 'exceptional doctor' and a 'deeply valued member of our NHS and primary care community'.It added: 'Highly intelligent, kind and generous, she brought warmth and positivity to those around her.'Bouquets and tributes were left at the scene in the hours after Ms Cain's death as forensics teams and police officers began their probe.Villagers described the area as a normally peaceful spot and said they had been shocked by the tragedy.One, who described how Ms Cain had lived in the area for around ten years, said: 'She was just a lovely human being with three gorgeous young children.'A neighbour in his 90s added: 'I very rarely saw them. The children were lovely, two boys and a younger girl.'They used to kick their football into my garden and I'd throw it back to them, or they'd come and ask me if they could come in and look for it.'
