Fact Check: This video DOES NOT show an Iranian attack on Israel's Haifa

A video of a destroyed urban area has gone viral on social media. Allegedly, it shows an Iranian attack in Haifa, Israel. An X user shared the video and wrote, “Breaking: Iran secretly launched hypersonic missiles at various locations in the Israeli city of Haifa, and this video clip clearly shows the extent of the damage inflicted on the area.”India Today Fact Check found that the video actually shows destruction caused by a tornado in Parana, Brazil, in November 2025.OUR PROBEReverse-searching frames from the video led us to an Instagram account of a Brazilian politician, Meri Martins. She posted the video on November 8, 2025. According to the post, a tornado caused destruction in Candoi and Rio Bonito do Iguacu in the state of Parana, Brazil. Another Brazilian politician, Luiz Marinho, also posted the video on X on November 8. According to these reports, the tornado passed through Parana on November 7, 2025. It caused widespread destruction in Rio Bonito do Iguacu, Candoi, and Porto Barreiro in the Central-South and West of the state. The Brazilian government confirmed the deaths of at least five people at the time. A CNN report from November 9, 2025, quoted Parana governor, Ratinho Junior as describing the tornado as an “unprecedented catastrophe” in the state’s history.
