Amid hundreds of videos from the protest, including clashes with the police, several clips of dance performances have also gone viral. In this story, we will look at two such videos. The first video shows young women dancing, and the second shows young men and women dancing together.Allegedly, both videos are from the ongoing protests.India Today Fact Check found that both videos are old and from the Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College in Chandigarh. These videos have nothing to do with the ongoing protests.OUR PROBE Reverse-searching frames from the first video led us to the Instagram account “sd_flashzoom”, which described itself as “Chandigarh's Youth Media Platform”. This account posted the video on March 7, with the location geotagged as Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College in Chandigarh’s Sector 32.We also found the second video posted by the same account on February 18. The account follows only four people. One of them is a person called Deepanshu Garg. We checked Garg’s account and found the account “sd_flashzoom” mentioned in his bio. India Today Fact Check reached out to Garg, who confirmed that he runs the “sd_flashzoom” account and studies at GGDSD College. He told us, “Both videos have nothing to do with the protests against Gyanesh Kumar”. He also confirmed that both clips were shot on the GGDSD College campus. The first is from a prom night programme organised on March 7, and the second was from February 18, shot during a club celebration called “Riwayat”.Thus, we concluded that the videos are not from the ongoing protest demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.- Ends
