FACT CHECK: Photos of Duterte at airport are fake, AI-generated
AI Summary
Fake images circulating online show former President Rodrigo Duterte arriving at the airport with an unknown man, but these are AI-generated and there's no evidence Duterte left The Hague, where he's detained since his March 2025 arrest. This misinformation underscores the growing threat of deepfakes, which can manipulate public perception and spread false narratives. The debunking highlights the need for heightened awareness and scrutiny of digital content to combat the spread of such deceptive media.
