Facebook and Instagram are down — Live updates on massive outage

There seems to be an issue with Instagram, as thousands of users are flocking to Downdetector to report problems with the popular social network. When the outage first started, we saw a massive spike in reports, with more than 2,000, which is significant so early in the downtime.Meta hasn't acknowledged the outage yet on its status page, so we'll have to keep an eye on things to see what happens.
