F1 star, 19, finally passes theory test after crashing at Spanish GP’s controversial Madring circuit

RISING F1 star Arvid Lindblad has finally passed his driving theory test -despite regularly blasting around circuits at more than 200mph. The 19-year-old Racing Bulls rookie revealed the news on Instagram. The top comment read: “Only 52 out of 75 on hazard perception lol, maybe with F1 driver reflexes he doesn’t think some things are hazards because he can keep the car under control.” But someone counteracted that point by writing: “He probably clicked too fast. You can click a fraction of a second too fast and get 0 instead of 5 points, it’s very flawed.” Another user wrote: “No yellow flags, that can’t have been an issue” Lindblad’s latest achievement comes just days after he crashed at the controversial new Madrid circuit during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix. The British teenager, who has a Swedish father as well as Indian heritage through his mother’s side, was the only driver to suffer a major accident in the session after losing control through Turn 13. He slid sideways into the barriers, damaging both his front and rear suspension as well as breaking his front wing. Charles Leclerc was second fastest ahead of Lewis Hamilton, while George Russell finished fifth behind his Mercedes team-mate. Linblad ended up in ninth place on Sunday, while Kimi Antonelli finished on top of the podium to leave Lando Norris fuming. The youngster said of his practice crash: “It’s not an easy track, so we’re all pushing to find the limits. It’s new for all of us and I just made a bit of mistake and overdid it a little bit in Turn 13. “A bit of a shame, I apologised to the mechanics and team because it’s a bit of extra work for them. Mercedes star Russell had warned before the weekend that the new circuit offered even less margin for error than Monaco because of its high-speed corners and unforgiving barriers. He said: “Without doubt, it is a circuit of very high risk and probably all the drivers were giving that bit of margin today. Let’s see tomorrow.” “You’ve got three corners where you’re turning and braking, and if you lock up, the wall is right in front of you, which is very reminiscent of the corner in Baku, Turn 15.” Comment now
