Eyelash technician denies cruise assault

A 22-year-old eyelash technician denied assaulting another woman on a party cruise within Barbados’ territorial waters on Sunday. During her appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, Jada Deandra Barnette, of Campaign Land, Martindales Road, St Michael, denied that on August 9, within the territorial waters of Barbados, she unlawfully assaulted Rashida Cox, occasioning her actual bodily harm. When she appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick placed the accused on $2 000 bail and ordered her to return to court on October 7. Barnette has also been warned to stay away from the complainant. (JB)
