After trying her hardest to support Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) through his incredibly painful emotional breakdown and eventual suicide attempt, sectioning and CPTSD diagnosis, Priya was cut deep when Ravi was released from the mental health facility and almost immediately left her. Seeking solace in the arms of Walford’s resident solace-giver – usually by way of an illicit bunk up – Max Branning (Jake Wood), what initially seemed like an ill-advised one off quickly morphed into a fully fledged affair, all while Max was planning his wedding to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). Upon Ravi’s returned, he put his entire heart into reuniting with his love, but her dalliance with Max made things incredibly difficult for her, and with only Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who’d previously caught Priya and Max together, as a confidant, Priya’s struggled deeply. …oh, and then she discovered she was pregnant. Her pregnancy did serve one purpose though, she used it to convince Ravi not to murder Max after kidnapping him once he discovered what the two had been up to. Ravi was under the impression that the baby Priya’s carrying is his; though the paternity test Priya took actually proves that Max is the dad. Despite everyone’s attempt to keep the whole sordid mess under wraps, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) discovered their secret, and stormed Max’s wedding to Cindy, followed closely by Priya, seemingly ready to blow the secret wide open. Max collapsed mid-speech, delaying him from ending things with Cindy, now dead set on moving on with Linda, and although he later did just that.
