Gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh described painting your fence as a “great way” to add colour and highlight your plants. In a recent video, he explained that fence paint can “promote its longevity”, preventing rot. Titchmarsh revealed the exact shade to opt for to elevate your outdoor space further. “If you have a medium-sized garden, painting your fences a light colour gives the impression that your garden is bigger,” he said. “The eye is drawn from the boundaries to the plants and features that contrast with it. “The safest option is medium or light grey.
