A FORMER soldier has been found guilty of murdering his wife after she was found strangled to death in her own bed. Tracey Davies 48, was discovered slumped over her bed last year by worried family members near Bridgend, South Wales. Davies was also found in the bedroom and had self-inflicted stab wounds in April of last year. A post-mortem examination found Tracey had died as a result of pressure to the neck. The defendant told police the next thing he remembered was sitting on her chest and fastening his hands around her neck. He had previously admitted guilty to manslaughter but denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility. In a tribute Tracey’s family said: “In loving memory of Tracey, an extraordinary woman whose strength, love, and humour touched every life she encountered.
