Ex-Remington CEO Is Building an ‘AI-Native’ Hotel Operator: Exclusive

Sloan Dean spent years running one of the largest U.S. third-party hotel management companies. Now he's launching a startup built around agentic AI. Dean, the former CEO of Remington Hospitality, is debuting a hotel management company called AI Hospitality Group (AIHG), Skift has learned exclusively. AIHG plans to run properties using software and AI to automate many processes. The Dallas-headquartered startup has been designing operations for three hotels since June and plans to take over management of its first hotels later this year. Dean expects a 500-basis-point improvement in gross operating profit margin at an independent, full-service hotel, from an industry average he puts at roughly 33% to 39% depending on property and market. The design work at three hotels so far shows that 500 basis points of improvement "is possible," he said. The startup has raised $7.5 million in seed funding.
