Police have arrested four men for allegedly robbing a Faridabad liquor contractor of Rs 1.53 lakh. Investigators say a former employee used inside knowledge of the contractor's routine to plan the attack.The accused have been identified as Prince alias Raja, Ravi alias Rohit alias Mota, Amit Pal and Ankit alias Lappa, all residents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Investigators said the robbery was allegedly planned by a former employee of the contractor along with his associates.The accused have been identified as Prince alias Raja, Ravi alias Rohit alias Mota, Amit Pal and Ankit alias Lappa, all residents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Police said they were arrested on Thursday and sent to four days of police remand on Friday.According to police, Charan Singh Kanhaiya, a resident of NIT-2, owns a liquor shop at Dabua Chowk. On the night of July 15, he was heading home on his motorcycle after collecting about Rs 1.53 lakh from the shop. When he reached the E-Block area of NIT-2, three youths intercepted him.Police said the accused, brandishing a country-made pistol, snatched the bag containing the cash from Kanhaiya and fled. A case was registered at Kotwali police station on the basis of the contractor's complaint. During the investigation, police found that Prince had earlier worked at the liquor shop on a monthly salary of Rs 8,000. He had left the job after not receiving part of his wages. Police said Prince knew that the contractor used to carry the day's sales proceeds home and allegedly made the robbery plan with his brother-in-law Ankit. Ravi and Amit were later brought into the plan, they added."The accused had conducted a recce of the contractor's movements prior to the incident. They had also stolen a motorcycle from Delhi's Sonia Vihar area to carry out the robbery. The accused had attempted a robbery earlier as well but had not succeeded," Aman Yadav, ACP Crime, Faridabad, said.
