Chad Powers has managed to keep his secret identity, defamed football player Russ Holliday, more or less hidden for two seasons of Chad Powers on Disney+ and Hulu. But can the Glen Powell character keep living the lie for much longer? Here’s what we know about Chad Powers season 3.The show premiered in 2025. Like Ted Lasso it is named for and based on a commercial/sketch character; the difference being that Jason Sudeikis played Lasso in both versions, and Eli Manning originated the character of Chad Powers. The series also stars Steve Zahn, Frankie Rodriguez, Wynn Everett, Perry Mattfield, and Colton Ryan. They play the players/staff/supporters of the college football team where Glenn’s character, Russ Holliday, tries to rehabilitate himself (and score touchdowns) by pretending to be a goofy prodigy quarterback named Chad Powers. In season 2, Russ’ circle of trust expanded as more people learned his secret and he doubles his efforts to make good with his team and actually win some games.First things first: is Chad Powers renewed for season 3? As of the season 2 premiere, we do not know. Disney/Hulu has not made an announcement either way. Last time around, the show was renewed in December following a September release date. So there’s no rush to call it now.What would Chad Powers season 3 be about?After a couple of close calls this season, things are definitely changing now that the circle of trust has expanded. Not to mention that Ricky and Russ can’t deny their chemistry any more. Oh, and Tricia now is on the big secret and she’ll do anything to make sure that it doesn’t get out. So how much farther can this go? Does he have to apply to legally change his name to Chad Powers, because of the lessons he’s learned or whatever? There definitely are possibilities for where this show can go from there... but it’s risky. Will people still care about Chad Powers when he’s no longer Chad Powers? I don’t know!When would we get to see Chad Powers season 3 if it does happen? The good news is that the show seems fairly quick and easy to make. Season 2 is premiering just a year after season 1, which is normal-ish for Hulu but still a little out of the ordinary for a streaming series in general. Even though Glenn has blockbuster movies to make and promote, presumably, he still finds time to put on the mask and get on the field. Ideally, Chad Powers season 3 would drop in September of 2027.
