‘Everyone gets this wrong!’ – Liverpool star Milos Kerkez confirms he is not married after mistaken identity at wedding

MILOS KERKEZ has revealed a hilarious misunderstanding that led his own team-mates to think that he had gotten married. The Liverpool left-back is set to have a renewed responsibility at Anfield this season after the departure of long-term first-choice Andy Robertson. The star, who plays for Hungary but was born and raised in Serbia, explained how a local tradition caught fans and friends out. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! He told the Times: “Everyone gets this wrong! “It was my oldest brother. In Serbia it is normal for the younger brothers to take the bride to the church. That’s what I did and now everyone thinks I got married.” Kerkez remains extremely close to his family unit, who he grew up with in the town of Vrbas, in northern Serbia. He is the youngest of three brothers, with middle child Marko playing for Greek side Aris. But it was the eldest, a chemical factory worker called Rade, whose wedding Kerkez apparently took over. He continued: “I keep having to explain to a lot of people that I never got married. It was my oldest brother, not me. I’m like, ‘No, I’m not ready for this yet!’ It was not me, it was Rade.” Kerkez explained that, like he did walking his brother’s bride to the church doors, his family are still a crucial part of his life – even if that sometimes involves some tough love. He humorously added: “My family are very important. My brothers have their own lives now but my parents are with me and I am much happier they are with me. “My dad is here to smack me sometimes on the top of the head to remind me. Sometimes you play a few good games and you maybe start to get a bit carried away.
