As such, over the years, One Piece has also amassed a sizable stack of unresolved mysteries, whether that's the secrets surrounding an unfinished war from hundreds of years ago, or smaller unresolved threads involving various characters. Going into its Final Saga, there's lately been a lot of talk about how One Piece is ending soon, but with so many mysteries to address before then, that ending is likely still years away. 50 What Is The Final Treasure And Why Did Roger Laugh The first and perhaps the most pressing mystery in One Piece is the nature of the final eponymous treasure left behind by Joyboy on Laugh Tale. From what we know from Oden's flashback, Roger and his crew learned everything about the Void Century on Laugh Tale, though given how dark and war-stricken this period is implied to have been, it's a mystery what about this tale Roger found so hilarious so as to name the final island after it. 49 What Is Luffy's Real Dream One very intriguing mystery introduced during the Wano Arc was that of Luffy's true dream. For the longest time, the assumption was that becoming the King of the Pirates was all there was to Luffy's dream, but the Wano Arc has teased that this is not the ultimate goal. Rather, becoming the freest man on the seas is only a means to Luffy's real dream, which is also one that he shares with Gol D. Roger. 48 The Final Ancient Weapon After years of wondering what the final ancient weapon could be and where it is, One Piece's Egghead Arc finally gave fans some answers, but not all of them. The weapon used by the World Government to wipe out Lulusia Kingdom was later revealed to be an Ancient Weapon, most likely Uranus, but the series has yet to officially confirm the latter, much less how it came into the government's possession, why it needs the Mother Flame to power it, and what Imu's ultimate plan is involving it. 47 The Ancient Kingdom's Name And History Although Vegapunk revealed much about the Ancient Kingdom and their history in his broadcast during the Egghead Arc, one pressing question that remains is the name of this ancient yet advanced civilization in question. Professor Clover was shot to death before he could speak its name, and the reason for the conflict between it and the twenty other nations that came to form the World Government is still unknown. 46 The Harley And The Jewel Tree Adam Mural One Piece's Elbaph Arc recently introduced an absolute bombshell of a lore drop through the Harley texts and the Void Century mural on Jewel Tree Adam. The Harley reveals that One Piece's world was destroyed twice before, and the mural seemingly depicts both of these conflicts, though fans are still missing the full picture or a proper explanation of either, leaving much up to conjecture. 45 Blackbeard Having Two Devil Fruits Considering all the myths and misconceptions about devil fruits both within the series and among fans, it was quite a surprise when Blackbeard was able to somehow gain possession of Whitebeard's Quake-Quake Fruit, becoming the only character in the series with two devil fruits. It is still unclear how he was able to do this and whether it is an ability exclusive to him and his Dark-Dark Fruit. 44 Why Did Luffy and Zoro Refer To Blackbeard As "Them" On Jaya Despite Blackbeard being set up as one of the final antagonists of One Piece, there are still many lingering mysteries about his character, the oldest being from the Straw Hats' first encounter with Teach back on Jaya. Following their short confrontation, Luffy and Zoro referred to Blackbeard as more than one person. It's unclear whether they were referring to Blackbeard's crew, but this moment has led to countless theories about Blackbeard possessing multiple souls or personalities within one body. 43 Imu And The Five Elders' Powers One Piece's Egghead and Elbaph Arcs have finally revealed the Five Elders and Imu, as well as their abilities, but the source of their powers still remains a mystery. The Five Elders all seem to possess mythical zoan-like transformations, but when revealed, the series simply introduced them with the names of these mythical monsters rather than the names of their devil fruits. The same goes for Imu, whose power was simply described as the Devil's Fruit. 42 The Giant Straw Hat At Mariejois One age-old mystery that is as old as Imu himself is that of the giant straw hat at Mariejois. It is unknown who this hat belonged to, and though Joyboy was the top contender for the longest time, with the revelation of Joyboy's very regular human-sized silhouette during the Egghead Arc, Joyboy has also been ruled out. 41 Who Is Joyboy, Really? First mentioned back during the Fishman Island Arc, Joyboy has gradually developed into one of the most crucial figures in One Piece. Even so, very little is known about Joyboy other than that he belonged to the Ancient Kingdom, was the so-called "first pirate" who fought against the twenty rulers, and that he was the previous user of the Nika Fruit. It is still unclear whether Joyboy was even his actual name or just a moniker.
