The multiverse is even allowing variants of Fox's X-Men to appear. As a pivotal release in Marvel's Phase 6 slate, Avengers: Doomsday has been a central focus for the studio for quite some time. They've thrown their normal marketing playbook out the window to orchestrate a full year of build-up. And while there is still time to go before the film releases, Marvel has already released multiple Avengers: Doomsday trailers meant to spread awareness and generate excitement. After attaching footage to theatrical showings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, Marvel dropped the first Doomsday teaser on December 23, 2025, with the sole purpose of confirming that Evans was returning as Steve Rogers. The 1-minute and 20-second teaser shows Steve riding a motorcycle and arriving at Peggy Carter's house from the end of Avengers: Endgame. It then shows him walking into the house and taking his Captain America suit out of a box. The trailer ends with him holding his and Peggy's baby boy, teasing the happy, quiet life that Steve has created before getting wrapped back up in superhero duties. 6 Thor Will Return Avengers: Doomsday Trailer The second look at Avengers: Doomsday came a week later, with Marvel officially debuting a new teaser on December 30, 2025. This time, Hemsworth's return as Thor is the sole focus, with the studio keeping the focus on the returning founding Avengers. Thor's Doomsday trailer keeps most of the attention on him praying to Odin in a forest. The god of thunder is briefly seen in a home with Love, his adopted daughter from Thor: Love and Thunder​​​​​​, as well. His prayer is as follows: "Father, all my life I have answered every call, to honor, duty, to war. But now fate has given me something I never sought, a child. A life untouched by the storm. Lend me the strength of the All-Fathers so that I may fight once more. Defeat one more enemy and return home to her. Not as a warrior, but as warmth. To teach her not battle, but stillness. The kind I never knew. Please, Father, hear my words." 5 The X-Men Will Return Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Continuing the trend of releasing a new character-centric teaser weekly, Marvel shared the third Avengers: Doomsday teaser on January 6. Rather than focus on any other core MCU characters, though, the trailer provided the first glimpse at the multiversal X-Men team to play on the nostalgia aspects of the film. The X-Men's Avengers: Doomsday trailer begins by showing multiple shots of the destroyed interior of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) are then shown grabbing each other's hands in the hallway. The last shots show Cyclops (James Marsden) taking off his visor and unleashing an optic blast into the sky while what looks to be a Sentinel walks through the background. The only dialogue in the X-Men trailer comes from Magneto. He narrates the first half of the footage, saying, "Death comes for us all. That's all I know for sure. The question isn't, are you prepared to die. The question is: who will you be when you close your eyes?" 4 The Wakandans & The Fantastic Four Will Return Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Marvel released the final of four Avengers: Doomsday on January 13. This one again put the focus on multiple character groupings, showing the first glimpse of the Fantastic Four, Wakandans, and Talokanil in the ensemble feature. The trailer begins with Shuri (Letitia Wright) walking through the desert and showing Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía) sitting on a throne surrounded by other members of Talokan. The footage progresses to show M'Baku (Winston Duke) and members of the Dora Milaje walking alongside Shuri as they encounter Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). The last moment shows Shuri do the Wakanda Forever salute as she and M'Baku board an aircraft. The Wakandans and Fantastic Four Avengers: Doomsday trailer features limited dialogue. Shuri's narration at the beginning teases her mindset heading into the potentially world-ending events: "I've lost everyone that matters to me. The king has his duties to prepare our people for the afterlife. I have mine." Later on, we get the meet and greet between M'Baku and Ben, where the former introduces himself as King of Wakanda, while the latter states he's from "Yancy Street between Broome and Grand." 3 Avengers: Doomsday (Official Trailer) After the four teasers, Marvel made audiences wait months for the first official Avengers: Doomsday trailer. It was released online on July 20, allowing it to then play in front of Spider-Man: Brand New Day following its debut on July 31. The trailer marked the first official look at Doctor Doom and started to plant the seeds of the multiverse-converging plot. Avengers: Doomsday's official trailer begins with Professor X being blinded by the light coming from what looks to be two universes colliding in an incursion as Doom says, "Something's coming. Something we may not be able to deter." It then shows Doom kneeling on the ground as he says, "Before this day is done. We shall be faced with an unthinkable decision." After the Marvel Studios logo, Thor begins a speech about the dangers of the threat the heroes are facing, as group shots of Thor with the Fantastic Four, Captain America with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and the collective rosters of the Fantastic Four and two Avengers teams are shown. There are also glimpses of Shuri and M'Baku meeting with Namor as the Wakandan and Talokanil forces draw weapons. From there, the trailer shows moments like Gambit (Channing Tatum) versus Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in Steve's house, the full Wakandan and Fantastic Four meeting, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) fighting Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Thor fighting Doctor Doom, and Thor's reunion with Steve, who is still worthy to hold Mjolnir. 2 Avengers: Doomsday (Special Look/SDCC Trailer) Shortly after debuting the official trailer, Marvel Studios dropped another extensive look at Doomsday. Labeled as a Special Look, it was released online on August 15. However, the two minutes of mostly new footage originally debuted as part of Marvel Studios' SDCC 2026 panel, making those not in the room wait another two weeks to see it officially. Avengers: Doomsday's special look trailer begins with Doom on his Latverian throne as Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) talks about how smart he has always been and how much he's changed, explaining this to other MCU heroes. The footage then transitions to shots of a destroyed city as Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) asks him, "Did you do this?" Doom then talks about how they've all lived "stolen lives" as we see shots of Magneto crying, Steve holding his child, Thor with Love, Cyclops in battle, and more. There's then an extension of Thor's arrival to fight Doom where he proclaims, "You will beg for hell long before I grant it." However, Doom easily stops Thor's attack and then uses magic to raise an army of Sentinels. 1 Avengers: Doomsday's LEGO Official Trailer Recreation The most recent Avengers: Doomsday trailer is a bit more fun, as Marvel released an official recreation of the first full trailer using only LEGO Bricks. It's a perfectly recreated version of the Avengers: Doomsday official trailer, just this time made in animation in the style of only using the popular bricks and minifigures. The LEGO recreation retains the original sound effects and dialogue from the live-action trailer, but gives fans of Marvel and LEGO an entertaining alternative way to watch the footage. With plenty of LEGO sets inspired by Avengers: Doomsday to come, the trailer also works as a clever way of teasing what consumers will eventually be able to build on their own.
