Euro 2028 odds: England trail World Cup winners Spain and France in betting

NEWLY crowned World Cup winners Spain are joint-favourites with France to back up global success by winning Euro 2028. The European powerhouses are closely followed by England though, fresh off a third place finish out in North America. The Three Lions will have home advantage in two years time, with potentially one game at the Etihad and one at St James’ Park, though every other game at Wembley. A slight change to how hosting has worked in the past, having played all of their games in the 1966 World Cup, Euro 96 and the delayed Euro 2020 at the national stadium. Thomas Tuchel looks set to remain in charge despite the semi-final collapse to Argentina, having secured the bronze medal in that bonkers 6-4 win over France. But fans are right to be critical of the set-up, having watched Spain completely dominate against the Argies in the New York New Jersey final, with the Copa America champions taking 117 minutes to have a shot of any description at goal. That was a tournament there for the taking and now England have eyes on a big win on home soil. There are a couple of big obstacles in the way though, with Spain and France both sitting at the top of the markets as the 4/1 favourites to win Euro 2028. The majority – if not all – of the Spanish side will still be together come that tournament and they’ll be tough to beat again. While the French firepower in attack is only like to get stronger and they’ll have the legendary Zinedine Zidane in the dugout then. England are just behind though as 9/2 shots with Sky Bet to finally get over the line. Portugal flopped in America but are 13/2 to make amends, with Jurgen Klopp’s Germany fifth in the betting at 15/2. Netherlands (12/1), Italy (18/1) and Belgium (18/1) trial, with Norway (22/1), Switzerland (28/1) and Denmark (33/1) all worth a look at bigger prices.
