Donczew became Cardiff’s youngest ever first team player when he came on as a second-half substitute against Newport County in the EFL Trophy last year, aged just 15 years and 234 days. His arrival, and the news that Arsenal have tied down Nwaneri, come after a string of frustrating misses for the Hale End academy. Highly-rated midfield prodigy Mishel Nduka has agreed to swap the Gunners’ youth set up for Manchester City. Nduka, 16, was offered scholarship terms by Arsenal, but turned them down in favour of an Etihad switch. While City also pipped Arsenal to the signing of Leicester City ace Jeremy Monga earlier in the transfer window. Mikel Arteta’s side are currently in Spain ahead of their first pre-season friendly this Saturday against Girona. Given the large number of international players that are yet to return to training after the World Cup, Arteta has opted to bring a host of academy aces to Spain with the first-team.
