Andrew Thomas made four saves for the Sounders (7-9-6, 27 points), whose winless streak in MLS play reached 11 matches (0-8-3) dating back to May 16. It was the third consecutive draw for Seattle, which nearly won it in the final seconds when Paul Arriola's shot from the top of the 18-yard box clanged off the crossbar. The Red Bulls (7-10-6, 27 points), who were making the first stop on a four-match trip, remained winless in their past five (0-3-2). Horvath, a former U.S. international, made four stops in the second half. In the 65th minute, he made a diving stop to his left on a 19-yard free kick by Seattle's Albert Rusnak. Horvath then made back-to-back saves in the 70th. He made a diving stop to his left on a Dejan Joveljic header that seemed destined for the lower right corner of the net, then seconds later stopped a point-blank blast from Snyder Brunell. Thomas made a diving stop on an 8-yard half-volley from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the first minute of second-half stoppage time. Thomas also smothered a shot from the right side of the penalty area by Hall in the 48th minute. In the 42nd, Horvath got his right hand on a high 10-yard shot by Jordan Morris after a lengthy run down the left wing. Thomas' lone save in the first half came in the 43rd minute, a routine stop on a shot from just outside the top of the 18-yard box by Cade Cowell. Sounders defender Kalani Kossa-Rienzi had to be subbed off in the 37th minute with a right ankle injury. --Field Level Media
