Marking the actor's first series regular TV role, The Lowdown stars Hawke as bookstore owner Lee Raybon, who investigates the criminal underworld in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after writing an exposé about a corrupt family in town and ends up discovering shocking secrets along the way. After the first season aired a year ago, FX renewed the crime dramedy back in January and recently announced an October 14 premiere date. With just over two weeks remaining until its premiere, FX has released the official trailer for The Lowdown season 2. The footage shows Hawke character, Lee, being hired by Betty Gilpin's mysterious new character for help that gets him entangled in a conspiracy involving local police, while also having to deal with the return of his father, played by Tommy Lee Jones. Check out the trailer below: The Lowdown season 2 trailer begins with Lee waking up and gasping for air, with sirens blaring in the distance. As a voiceover explains that Tulsa is a city that doesn't easily forgive but won't hesitate to doll out punishments, Lee struts down an alley at night and later claims that he's uncovered something huge. Wearing his signature Stetson Open Road hat, he meets with a woman who claims that two men are following her. When Lee tries to get a description, she scoffs and replies, "I'm not gonna tell you what they look like," but she wants him to spot them. As he tries to make some headway in this case, Lee uncovers jaw-dropping information involving two confirmed murders and the entire sheriff's department. "It goes all the way up to the top," he theorizes, before adding that he plans to take them all down because when things like this happen, no one is usually held accountable. Lee also has to deal with drama in his personal life, specifically the appearance of his father, who was found wandering the highway. Lee is perturbed that his father showed up out of the blue like that. "You can't come in here and wreck everything," he says. Several action shots quickly follow, including a shootout in the woods at night, and the trailer ends with Lee boasting, "You have not seen the best of Lee Raybon." More to come...
