Establishing programme for enhancing business environment charts an integrated economic path

Muscat: Anwar Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, emphasised that the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to establish the National Programme for Enhancing an Investment-Attractive Business Environment, alongside preparing a long-term plan to enhance the growth of the non-oil trade balance, chart an integrated economic path to boost the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman.The Royal directives also consolidate Oman’s status as an attractive investment destination, and expand the presence of Omani products in global markets. Al Jabri explained in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the upcoming phase will focus on facilitating ease of doing business, raising procedural efficiency, attracting qualitative investments, and developing non-oil exports while opening new markets for them, thereby boosting the growth of the private sector and the national productive base.He added that the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion will work, in partnership with relevant entities and the private sector, to translate these Royal directives into executive tracks with tangible economic impact, thereby supporting economic diversification and achieving the targets of Oman Vision 2040.
