His impressively large collection of rare Hermès Haut à Courroies bags (the predecessors to the Birkin) went viral during the World Cup, and he's even been sporting the brand's sandals on his post-World Cup travels. Naturally, we couldn't help but notice that's mad about watches, too.After the tournament, and quite rightly so, Haaland's been enjoying a bit of an extended holiday around Europe. Recently he was spotted taking a picture with a fan in his downtime get-up. Clothes-wise there was nothing much to report, but his wrist action got us excited.The footballer was wearing a vintage 14k yellow gold Paul Newman Rolex Daytona “John Player Special” with the reference number 6264, according to dedicated celebrity watch spotter @celebwatchspotter on Instagram. Most Rolex Daytonas with the 6264 reference were made from stainless steel; there were just a few pieces made in yellow gold, making it an even more cherished version of a watch that's already one of the most sought-after. It's a 37mm watch that takes its nickname from John Player and the famous black-and-gold Lotus Formula 1 racing livery. As far as grail watches go, you really can't get a watch much more coveted than this line of Daytonas.It's an extraordinary piece with a sporty heritage, and the black version Haaland is sporting is increasing in demand, according to Sotheby's. This is likely due to its unique look with the contrast between the gold and black, which makes it especially dressy.Haaland clearly knows his watches (see his Breitling from the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda show in July), as well as other luxury items, and this is just further proof.
