The TNT Sports commentator went on to wish the affected spectator well, saying: “We wish them all the best, it’s a horrible situation.” While the spectator was receiving help from WST officials, TNT Sports cut away from the arena and broadcast an interview with Kyren Wilson, who had defeated Mark Selby earlier in the day. Wu and Davies returned to the table a few minutes later to continue the match. Davies went on to win 4-1 to progress to the quarter-finals. It marked the first time the Welshman had reached the last-eight in a ranking tournament.
