England gymnast Gabriel Langton seen for first time since horror fall as he finally gets Commonwealth Games medal

GABRIEL LANGTON has received a hero’s welcome from his England team-mates after returning to his hotel following his horrific fall from the high bar. The Brit, 19, tumbled head-first during his gymnastics routine, which was captured live on TNT Sports, landing on his neck and leaving fans fearing for his health. However, earlier on Saturday evening, a positive update was issued as it was revealed Langton has suffered “no serious injury complications” as a result of the fall. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! And a video showed him returning to his hotel, where he received the team gymnastics silver medal, won on Friday night, and being given a standing ovation. Incredibly, despite the fall, Langton emerged with little more than a cut above his nose, though could be seen limping into the Glasgow hotel. MORE FROM COMMONWEALTH GAMES Great Britain gymnastics head coach Barry Collie posted a statement from Team England on Instagram, updating the public on Langton’s condition. It read: “Gabriel was transferred to the hospital as a precautionary measure overnight and underwent multiple scans today, with very positive results. “Thankfully he has been cleared of any serious injury complications and will be discharged to return to the team hotel this evening. “He is in good spirits and hugely grateful for the many messages of support and excellent care provided by the medical teams.
