A source said: “Rather than simply investing in buy-to-let properties like many footballers, Eze has entered the far more ambitious world of residential development, taking control of a site with planning permission already in place. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! “Football might be paying the bills today, but developments like this can end up making players wealthier than their careers ever did.” Companies House records show Eze has established EZE10 Residential (Horsted Keynes) Limited and become a director of Macar Homes (Horsted Keynes) Limited alongside Surrey developer Alex MacDonald and his wife Rachael. The site already has permission for 30 homes, ranging from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses, including nine affordable properties. But the scheme attracted more than 260 objections, with residents raising concerns over traffic, road safety, over-development and the loss of greenfield land. Campaigners also warned it would mean felling mature trees and harm the character of the historic Sussex village. Despite the objections, council planners concluded the benefits outweighed the concerns and granted permission.
