Robert’s got a new plan (Picture: ITV) Ooh Emmerdale’s Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is a slippery little thing, isn’t he? So much so, even Aaron makes him promise to stop, and that says it all. He’s a schemer who cares about nothing but his own end goal, even at the expense of grieving Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler). He also has no scruples about screwing over Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), although no one’s complaining about that one. But now he’s also destroying Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) for his own gains, and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is uncomfortable with it. Robert joined forces with Sadie to try to find Jimmy’s hidden £150,000, but he has no plans for splitting the money with her. Instead, he has designs on swiping The Hide from under Gabby, whose facing financial ruin. Aaron is bemused to see Gabby and Laurel handing the keys of the Hide over to Robert and Robert is full of glee. Aaron forces him to make a promise – that he must stop scheming once the sale goes through. He’s finding this level of deviousness unattractive, and risky. ‘Aaron anchors Robert with the every day man moral compass’, Ryan explained. ‘That’s good for him to have. It keeps him in check. Aaron being Aaron persuades Robert from going so far.’ Robert is excited for the re-opening and his chance to launch his new business, but a conversation will send things awry. Now, buying a café restaurant is not a cheap purchase and it’s not going to go under Sadie’s radar. What will she make of Robert’s sudden massive investment when Jimmy’s money is still missing?
