| Freelance Soaps Reporter Published October 30, 2026 11:44am Updated October 30, 2026 11:46am Bad and bearing bad news! (Picture: ITV) This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Friday, October 30) Emmerdale, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX. Victoria Sugden has been MIA for a while now, with Isabel Hodgins on maternity leave with her gorgeous baby, Georgie. On-screen, Victoria fled the village after her life began to crumble around her. After putting a definitive end to her deeply deranged brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), her other brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) stepped in to protect her, though unknown to both, local posho rotter Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had discovered her killer secret, and quickly set about using it to his advantage. Under a hefty amount of duress, Victoria convinced Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) that they needed to sell their farm to the Tate clan, as Joe focussed on expanding the Tate empire across the village. Absolutely wracked with guilt, her relationship with Robert strained and having been helplessly manipulated by Joe, Victoria decided it was time to call it quits in the village and fled to Portugal with her son, Harry. Victoria struggled in the aftermath of killing John (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock) In her absence, Robert took steps to right the wrongs that Joe had forced him to inflict on the other villagers, firstly freeing Moira, who he’d framed on Joe’s behalf for the murder of hideous human trafficker Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths). Robert is a man of two distinct sides, though, and after fixing the damage he’d caused for Joe, he set out on his own manipulative mission to re-establish the Sugdens as a force to be reckoned with in the village. His first target? Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and her struggling business: The Hide. Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. Gabby, who’d played a role in the carnage that ripped through the village and claimed the lives of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles) had seen the business face increasing financial issues and dropping custom, was primed for Robert to twist around his little finger, and he convinced her to sell the business to him and use the money to pay Jimmy’s wife, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), who was suffering financially after he’d stolen Jimmy’s missing loot. Gabby struck back after realising she’d been entirely manipulated by gutting the restaurant of everything but the front door, forcing Robert to rig up a game of poker to raise the much-needed funds to put the place back together – until it was swiped by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). Robert reached out to Victoria on a video call… (Picture: ITV) …it didn’t go as planned, though (Picture: ITV) With the money now back in his slimy grasp, Robert decided today was the day to get in touch with Victoria and bring her home, folding her into his brand new family business, and he set about doing just that. On a video call, Emmerdale viewers clapped eyes on Victoria for the first time in forever, as Robert laid out his plans for her to be at the heart – and kitchen – of his brand new venture, with produce being sourced from their farm and the entire enterprise being manned by their family. Victoria was shaken at the mere prospect of heading back to the village and despite Robert’s pleas or her to think about his proposition, she said she didn’t need to – she wasn’t coming back: it’s not just her she needs to think about, but Harry, and they were happy in Portugal. Robert called in enforcements: his fiancé, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who levelled with Vic; Robert had a solid and sustainable plan, he wasn’t just spinning her a line. Victoria remained unmoved though and made it clear: her decision stood, and she wouldn’t be coming back to the village she’d called home for entire life anytime soon, if ever.
