It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube. A huge twist has been revealed about newcomer DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) in Emmerdale. The detective was introduced to us shortly after Dr Caitlin Todd’s (Caroline Harker) death. As Ramsden got to work questioning Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), she quickly decided that they weren’t being entirely honest with her about what happened. Someone else who was interviewed by the new face was Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy). She had arrived at Jacobs Fold seconds after Sarah pushed Todd, and helped her and Charity create a cover story. As she worked to protect them both, Serena was at an advantage while being questioned due to previously working as a copper. She knew exactly what Thea was going to ask, and therefore could answer without breaking a sweat. DS Ramsden was in the village in today’s episode of the ITV soap, hoping to get more information from Charity on Todd’s death. The detective then arrived at Emmerdale Farm to see Serena. Seconds later, the two women hugged, confirming that they know each other very well. The fact that these two characters are mates is probably why Thea can sense that Serena isn’t telling her the whole truth about what happened during Dr Todd’s final moments. She encouraged her friend to share more information, but Serena stuck by her story. Ramsden then made a comment about how she hopes whatever Serena is up to won’t get in the way of their plan. And what is their plan, I hear you ask? Serena previously worked as a copper (Picture: ITV) She has been breaking into Home Farm for Thea (Picture: ITV) As we reached the end of the episode, Thea and Serena were outside the pub. It was then revealed to us that Serena has been breaking into Home Farm for Thea, who wants to find something that can bring Kim Tate (Claire King) down. After a brief interaction with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), we got an insight into Thea’s mindset when she stated that Joe isn’t the devil, but Kim is. ‘She’s the one I need to cut off at the knees’, she told Serena. ‘Get me what I need on Kim Tate so I can finally bring her down’. The fact that Thea said finally suggests that she’s been plotting against Kim for quite a while. But how does she know her?
