Emma Raducanu rehires US Open-winning coach in surprise move before Wimbledon

Emma Raducanu has turned to a blast from her past ahead of Wimbledon, rehiring Andrew Richardson as her coach. Richardson was sat in the Briton’s box when she stunned the tennis world by winning the US Open back in 2021 as a qualifier. Raducaunu, 18 at the time, emerged victorious at Flushing Meadows having not dropped a single set en route to the title. She has struggled in recent years for consistent form, and has chopped and changed her coaching setups numerous times. Roig has since taken up a role with Iga Swiatek, the world No3, while Raducanu has gone through seven coaches, including Roig, since her first split with Richardson just after her US Open win.
