Ch-aviation shows that the Gulf giant has 116 airframes, accounting for 42% of its passenger-carrying fleet. On Sunday, October 25, Northern Hemisphere carriers, like Emirates, will switch to winter schedules based on IATA slot seasons. On or around that date, hundreds of new and returning routes will take off. Some links will also see notable aircraft changes, whether for a type being removed (like Qantas from Melbourne) or being added (such as Emirates to Delhi). Emirates A380 From Dubai To Delhi The Gulf carrier first flew the superjumbo from its Dubai International Airport (DXB) hub to India on a one-off occasion on July 15, 2010. This was to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), which serves the country's capital. This was for two reasons: to celebrate the carrier's 25th anniversary of service to the country and to celebrate the opening of the airport's Terminal Three. It was India's first A380 flight. Emirates' regular A380 service to India did not materialize until 2014. And when it did, it was not to DEL but to Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), which serves the country's financial and economic capital. Double-decker service to Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), which serves the nation's IT and high-tech capital, followed in 2022. OAG data shows that DEL has not seen Emirates' A380s since the summer of 2010. But that will change on October 25, as the carrier's first regular service on the type will take off. It'll deploy the four-class, 468-seat configuration, which is the carrier's lowest-capacity superjumbo. Emirates will be one of three A380 operators to DEL, joining Lufthansa (from Munich) and Singapore Airlines (from Changi). It'll be the first time DEL has had a trio of double-decker carriers. Emirates Has Four Daily Flights From Dubai To Delhi When all passenger operators are considered, DXB-DEL will have 12 to 13 daily departures in November. It'll be the second most-served Indian airport of the 21 with DXB service that month. Only BOM will have more flights (14 to 15 daily). Emirates Frequency DXB to DEL; Local Times (November 2026) DEL To DXB; Local Times (November 2026) Daily EK510: 4:15 AM-8:55 AM (777-300ER) EK513: 4:10 AM-6:35 AM (now A380, replacing 777-300ER) Daily EK516: 9:55 AM-2:40 PM (777-300ER) EK511: 10:35 AM-1:00 PM (777-300ER) Daily EK514: 3:10 PM-7:55 PM (777-300ER) EK517: 4:15 PM-6:35 PM (777-300ER) Daily EK512: 9:30 PM-2:10 AM+1 (now A380, replacing 777-300ER) EK515: 9:30 PM-11:59 PM (777-300ER) Air India, Emirates, flydubai (Emirates' narrowbody sibling), IndiGo, and SpiceJet will all fly between DXB and DEL. 55% of the departures will be operated by widebodies: Air India's Boeing 787-8s and Emirates' A380s and 777-300ERs. You might wonder why the A380 will be deployed on EK512, which will be the airline's final departure of the day to DEL. While multiple flights from Europe, the Middle East, etc., arrive in DXB from 6:00 PM or so, it is only partly about them. They're usually well covered by the other services. Loading map… Drag to explore It is much more because it is fed by Emirates' largest number of flights from North America. Multiple routes arrive between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, including from Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Orlando (which will be the airline's first A350 destination in the US), San Francisco, and Seattle. Unsurprisingly, the A380's arrival in DXB at 6:35 AM then feeds the largest bank of departures to North America. India Has More A380 Flights Than Ever Before When all airlines are included, India will have a total of 180 departures on the A380 in November, which is a new record. It'll exceed the prior high for the month, set in 2024, by 12%. Daily departures will now total six. There's Emirates' daily frequency to BLR, BOM, and now DEL, along with Lufthansa's daily flight to DEL and Singapore Airlines' daily offering to both DEL and BOM. 33 countries globally will see the double-decker in November. With India's record number of flights, it will now rank eighth for superjumbo activity, up from 11th in November 2025 and ninth in 2024. Back before the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2019, it was only 17th. While the jump is notable, India still only has one in every 38 scheduled A380 flights globally.
