Elliot Anderson takes huge dig at Man Utd as England World Cup star reveals why he joined Man City in £116m transfer

ELLIOT ANDERSON believes he is joining the ‘Kings of Manchester’ after opting for a move to City – despite interest from United. The Red Devils were tracking the England ace in recent months as Michael Carrick looked to revamp his midfield. The deal was done during the World Cup but Anderson headed to the North West to officially signed his five year contract – worth around £300,000 per week. And that’s the sort of team I want to be a part of – champions and people who win trophies. “Over the last 10, 12 years, they’ve dominated, so that’s why I wanted to join. “They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the squad they have is amazing – so strong in every position. “As soon as I knew they wanted me, I was absolutely determined to make the move happen.” Anderson has signed a deal which keeps him at the Etihad until 2031 with the option of a further 12 months at the end of it. He will get an early chance to see what he turned his back on when his new team-mates travel to Old Trafford on September 13.
