Elizabeth Holmes Says She Did Nothing Wrong in the You Can See Everything Trailer

2 min readIn a year of blockbusters like The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Dune: Part Three, it’s Nathan Fielder’s You Can See Everything, a new documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, that might be the actual biggest event film of 2026.Kicking off the first official trailer, released Wednesday, Fielder asks Holmes, “Do you really feel you’ve done nothing wrong?” Holmes, who is now serving a ten-year sentence in federal prison, says she did not.“So where did things get lost?” Fielder asks. “How are you where you are right now?”“I wish I knew,” Holmes replies.That’s the thesis behind You Can See Everything. Fielder and codirector Lance Oppenheim’s acclaimed nonfiction movie follows Holmes in the days leading up to the start of her prison sentence in Bryan, Texas. The rest of the trailer shows Fielder embedding himself into his subject’s home, which Holmes shares with her partner, Billy Evans, and their two children. The trailer also alludes to Billy’s own wealth, as the heir to a small chain of hotels in San Diego. “You’ve never been suspicious that she’s ever lied to you?” Fielder asks Billy.As Fielder grills Holmes’s motives for granting him and his crew unvarnished access into her private life, Holmes insists she has nothing to hide nor anything to deceive anyone on. (Not anymore, anyway.) Given that Holmes was found guilty on three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, it’s hard to accept anything she says at face value.You can watch the trailer below.If you don’t know Elizabeth Holmes’s story by now, she was once the billionaire founder of Theranos, a medical-technology start-up that falsely claimed it could perform intricate blood tests with just a small drop. In 2013 the company reached a peak valuation of $9 billion, until The Wall Street Journal’s investigative stories into the company’s fraudulent practices led to its demise in 2018. In May 2023, Holmes reported to federal prison.The appeal of You Can See Everything is how Nathan Fielder—who has his own history of using lies to his benefit on shows like Nathan for You and HBO’s The Rehearsal—ultimately sees Holmes.
