Elections to district planning committees in Kerala from August 17

State Election Commissioner N. Seshadrinathan Members of the district planning committees (DPC) will be elected on August 17, 18 and 19, State Election Commissioner N. Seshadrinathan said on Saturday (August 1, 2026).The State Election Commission has issued the guidelines for the elections. Twelve members have to be elected to the 15-member DPCs of the district panchayats, municipalities, and Corporations.A DPC is chaired by the district panchayat president and it has the District Collector as the member secretary and an expert member nominated by the State government. For the election, the members of the district panchayats will meet on August 17, and municipality and Corporation councillors on August 18 and August 19, respectively.
