Babu, 68, a resident of Kavalbairasandra. The accident occurred around 9.45 a.m. on the stretch between Goraguntepalya and CMT, within the jurisdiction of the Yeshwantpur Traffic Police Station.According to the police, Babu was riding his motorcycle when the garbage truck, allegedly being driven at high speed, hit the two-wheeler from behind. The impact caused him to lose control and fall onto the road. The truck’s rear wheel then ran over him, causing severe injuries. He died on the spot.Other road users alerted the police following the accident. Personnel from the Yeshwantpur Traffic Police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection and shifted the body for a postmortem examination.The police have registered a case in connection with the accident and taken the garbage truck driver into custody.
