While we're still more than a year away from seeing director Alex Garland's live-action adaptation of Elden Ring, there have been some important updates on the film, which wrapped a few months ago. But it sounds like distributor A24 is keeping many details about the film tightly under wraps as the Elden Ring movie is sent to market to strike major deals. One of those deals is now public, though: Amazon MGM has locked down streaming rights to Elden Ring. Amazon secures Elden Ring streaming rights Deadline reported Tuesday that Amazon has acquired "a bunch of international pay-1 streaming rights" for Elden Ring as part of an undisclosed deal, meaning Prime Video subscribers will likely get access to the film when it starts to stream. Sources tell Deadline that the deal "is easily worth tens of millions of dollars," which should certainly help defray Elden Ring's reported $200 million budget — A24's biggest ever. According to that report, A24 is closely guarding Garland's Elden Ring script. Describing the move as an "industry first," A24 is reportedly flying staffers directly to international buyers to allow decision-makers to read Garland's Elden Ring script while under the supervision of A24 employees. Garland's script was previously reported to be a beefy 160 pages — plus 40 pages of "additional imagery" — but Deadline now pegs the script at a whopping 180 pages, which would make the movie nearly three hours long. Obviously, some of that could be trimmed off during the edit, but it's still atypically lengthy for Garland. His longest movie to date as a director is the 115-minute sci-fi movie Annihilation. Garland's Elden Ring movie will reportedly follow a protagonist played by Kit Connor. The Heartstopper and Warfare actor is speculated to be playing a Tarnished warrior on his journey through the Lands Between. He'll reportedly battle "impressive monsters and dragons," according to Deadline. AFM is described by organizers as "the premier marketplace for the acquisition, development, financing, and distribution of independent film, television, and premium content for audiences worldwide." Footage may be shown to prospective buyers at AFM, but likely not the public, given the film's secrecy. A24's Elden Ring movie is slated to hit movie theaters (and IMAX) on March 3, 2028. The film stars Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.
