In the aftermath, the Egypt manager is said to have divorced his first wife, Howaida. He officially signed the divorce papers at a legal registrar’s office in Cairo. Hassan had been with Howaida for decades prior to their sudden split and the pair have three children. In contrast to the public spats, Ahmed Hamad, lawyer for the family of first wife Howaida, declined to discuss details of the separation, stating that the family is maintaining media silence for the time being. Hassan had wed Dan Adam back in 2015 while still married to Howaida, briefly splitting in 2022 before patching things up. Under Egyptian law, a Muslim man is legally permitted to be married to up to four wives simultaneously. The state registrar is legally required to notify the existing wife, or wives, of the new marriage via official notice.
