Shraddha Kapoor in ‘Eetha’ teaser | Photo Credit: Maddock Films Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming biopic Eetha has been postponed. The film, which was earlier set to be released on August 28, will now release on December 4, the makers announced on Tuesday (August 12, 2026).The makers made the announcement by sharing a poster of the film. They wrote in caption, “TOOFAN ke liye taiyaar rehna... kyunki #EETHA aa rahi hai, 4th December ko!”The film is helmed by Chhaava director Laxman Utekar and also stars Randeep Hooda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub and Anant Joshi in pivotal roles. It is based on the life of legendary Marathi Lavani dancer Vithabai Narayangaonkar, known for her iconic Lavani and Tamasha performances that deeply captivated audiences. For her contribution to the folk tradition, Vithabai receieved two President awards in 1957 and 1990Earlier, the film’s teaser was unveiled which showed Shradhha’s transformation as the Lavani dancer, while giving a glimpse into the period setting of the film with vibrant colours.Eetha marks the reunion of Shraddha with producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films after the Stree films. It is her first theatrical release in more than two years since Stree 2, which was a box office success.On the other hand, it is Laxman’s fifth collaboration with Maddock Films after after Luka Chuppi (2019), Mimi (2021), Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023) and Chhaava (2025).
