EDUCATING Yorkshire viewers have been left grossed out after the headteacher’s superfan girlfriend – who is 28 years his junior – has boasted about their age gap relationship. He has been dating social media manager Abi McMahon, 26, for the past four years – yet has been branded a “dirty old man” and “paedo teacher” since the pair went public. The soundtrack which accompanied her scenes sung out the lyrics: “I didn’t have a pen and paper. “I got to the mic and I’m like oh press record oh oh oh”. Most read in Showbiz Yet Abi’s followers appeared hugely divided. One posted a scene from The Inbetweeners with the caption: “I dunno I think that’s a bit dodgy mate”. Abi was quick to reply to one user and wrote: “First of all, well done you can do maths. Secondly, was I dating him then? “No so it literally has no relevance”. She previously told The Sun how her relationship had been labelled as “wrong” and “weird” – and how her man had been classed as a “paedo teacher”. We also reported how their love had caused friction with Jonny’s family – with his daughter the same age as his lover. Jonny was teaching at Thornhill Community Academy in West Yorkshire when he appeared on series one of the Channel 4 show. He had previously been married to Lisa Westerman, also 53, but the pair divorced in 2015. He met former police officer Abi on a night out in Leeds in 2021. The couple have been living together in a rented cottage in Huddersfield for the last two years. Jonny previously hit back at the haters, and told The Sun: “I’ve been branded a paedophile, a groomer, a dirty old man and far worse. “It’s par for the course for people who hide behind computer screens and keyboards and it makes me feel pessimistic about how society is panning out. “I never thought I’d fall in love again let alone with a woman so much younger than me but you can’t legislate who you meet”.
