Editorial: Keep hands off needed UH funds

In the vaunted halls of academia, many complex equations and mathematical theorems fly above the comprehension of most folks. But one principle would seem a basic one: that the tuitions and fees paid by University of Hawaii students should go toward funding and perpetuating the university’s operations and educational mission. State legislators, however, seem bent on devising their own skewed equations to sweep tuition revenues away from UH. They need to stop.
